past two days by boat, arrived in Luang Prabang, I am greeted by a beautiful sunset on Mekong River and a large crowd of tourists as it was unexpected. The heart of the country, a small strip of land that acts as a peninsula between the Mekong River and the tributary Nam Khan, it is certainly very strange to find yourself deep in the East, because, in a sense, the atmosphere is vaguely familiar: the entire center, very nice, full of temples, traditional markets and beautiful panoramic terraces overlooking the Mekong , is in fact an architectural mix of East and the French colonial past was, but what is most striking, it seems silly to say, is the bread! Yes .. lots and lots of white bread baguette anywhere in asia that stuff is as rare as gold. The French apparently hannno left their mark.
