Cusco - Macchu Picchu, 6-10mar L ax Arequipa a taxi towards the airport at 8 o'clock we are Cusco, where Carlos, ever met through CS, waiting for us at his home near the center, 35 years old and lives alone.

Carlos gives us tips on how to organize the trip to Macchu Picchu and how visits to the city 'and its surroundings, where there are many examples of past and archaeological sites.
visit on foot all the center, where you can not 'not to mention Qorikancha , a site famous for its temples which are the walls - now incorporated in the convent of Santo Domingo- and especially for the' huge amount 'of gold found by the Spaniards when they arrived, that covered even the well in the center of the courtyard.

The next day, and through El Valle Sagrado, en route to Machu Picchu, indeed, to be exact and to Aguas Calientes that 'the country more' next to the ruins, we come to the village Ollataytambo of small and immaculate, was equal to what it was 500 years ago, with side streets with pebbles, mud and stone houses, and the water flowing in channels at the center of the alleys, everything works perfectly, 'sti Inca were just phenomenal.
The time is not 'the best but, before proceeding, we visit the Inca ruins that surround this village, one of the few places where the Spaniards were defeated by the Incas, with the rain that makes us walk between the company terraces, the canals and the ruins of the temples enjoying the spectacular views over the valley below, at the end of the visit we are all wet, but happy.

At 16 we take the train, 2 hour drive to cover 50 km, the train 'Orient Express and then leave you to imagine both the price and service, but the most' beautiful ' landscape, all the way runs along the bottom of a valley, alongside agitation of a river, and mountains with snowy peaks all around us, we were all the time taking pictures and looking out.

Ollataytambo Once in, we take a micro first and then a bus to get to Pueblo Pisaq , another center of the Sacred Valley famous for feria artesanial and another Inca site, reachable by taxi as it is perched high in top of the mountain, and then declined to walk the 8 km separating us from the country. Accompanied by a pseudo-drive and also from the rain (but this time we are equipped with plastic ponchos) we see that other more beautiful place surrounded by greenery with a breathtaking panorama. The 8 km pass quickly between temples, houses and waterfalls of the period, up to and that 'almost dark in the square the country where they are dismantling the stalls, we barely had time to glance at someone and buy something for ........, ride in the country and then we wait another hour bus ride to Cusco where we will spend the last night, then catch a flight to Iquitos, the Amazon is waiting for us! |
